My first fall oil pastel painting of my first apartment. 𝘉𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘰𝘯 𝘚𝘵 was the right place at the right time, despite the glaring issues that come with living in an old house. My creative journey could not have started without it. I remember applying to my art museum job in that very sunroom, the one that housed my plants and provided a little glimpse of the downtown skyline. The countless hours I spent playing guitar nightly, the drawings I worked on alongside the climbing vines, and the times spent hunched over the kitchen table fervently typing away at college essays were so important to me becoming the person I always knew was there—an artist.
