The premier spot for flowers in the Pittsburgh area, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, is my source of inspiration for multiple artworks. Working on this 𝘖𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘥 was a challenge to bend the colors from my reference. While the flower itself is a close match to its counterpart, the background was an experiment to see what vivid colors would work as a replacement for dull hues. What resulted is this groovy piece.

A time capsule depicting the house on the opposite corner from my childhood home. For the longest time, it decayed while I crunched the seed pods from the honeysuckle tree beside it every fall. This home did end up getting some love in recent years, but I fondly remember the way it was when I was a kid—falling apart. I liked to imagine the history it had and how it looked inside. So with this piece, I tapped into a colorful palette. Bold and exaggerated, like looking through a child's eyes: specifically, my own. 𝘈𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘵 is extra special to me as the reference is one of my earliest pictures from the start of my photography journey at 14.

This view over the river was originally a photograph I took on a bridge while walking with my family. We were camping in the 𝘏𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘺, PA area during the peak of fall. Taking a stroll through nature with the sun slowly dipping down the hills is one of the best ways I can picture spending an evening. That trip, even being a short weekend, is still memorable for its small-town charm and beautiful Appalachian views.
